The Gentle Good is the moniker of Cardiff-based musician and songwriter Gareth Bonello. Gareth is known for his enchanting melodies, intricate guitar style and beautiful acoustic arrangements. As a former winner of both the Welsh Language Album of the Year and the Welsh Music Prize, Gareth has long been a prominent musician on the Welsh music scene.

The Gentle Good’s new album ‘Elan’ is a psychedelic portrait of the Elan Valley in Powys, Wales. It was written during a year-long residency in the Cambrian Mountains and explores the landscape, history and politics of the valley, which was flooded at the end of the Victorian era to create a series of reservoirs for drinking water. The album features a full band, synths and strings and draws on folk-rock, psych and pop influences to invoke the dramatic landscapes of Elan.

A captivating performer, Gareth has performed all over the world, from the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. He has toured extensively in the UK, performing at prominent festivals such as Glastonbury, The Green Man, Latitude and Cambridge Folk. His recent works include the solo guitar and vocal album Galargan, a stripped-back exploration of Welsh folk song that garnered a rare 5* review in the Guardian.

In recent years Gareth has become a highly regarded musical collaborator, having worked extensively with artists from China and India. His award winning album Y Bardd Anfarwol (2013) broke new ground with its unique combination of Welsh-language storytelling and Chinese traditional music. He is a founder member of the acclaimed Khasi-Cymru Collective with artists from the indigenous Khasi communities of Northeast India. Closer to home, in 2025 Gareth worked with the Welsh National Opera and the UK fishing community to compose new classical pieces for the Sea Interludes project.

Event FAQs

Can I Bring Children?

Children are welcome at our events but they will need their own ticket. Our license covers the number of people inside the premises regardless of age. *Babes in arms are not included in capacity and do not require tickets

We’re very sorry but if we sell out and you arrive with Children who don’t have tickets, we will not be allowed to let them in. Our license is at risk if we go over our capacity.

Our comedy night is an over 18s only event.

Please also bear in mind that our events feature loud music and adults drinking alcohol.

Please contact us if you are unsure.

Do you have a card machine?

We do have a card machine but we’re not able to offer cashback & signal is sometimes unreliable, it’s best to bring cash for the bar & food.

What if I can no longer come? Can I return my ticket?

If plans change and you are unable to attend an event, we are happy to refund tickets up to 30 days before the event. We are unable to offer any refunds after 30 days. Please contact us with any queries: brew@bluestonebrewing.co.uk

Can I stay overnight?

For our larger Summer Events, we offer overnight camping (for the night of the gig only). The gates to the camping field will remain locked until 6pm, however, you are welcome to arrive from 4pm onwards. If you wish to set up camp between 4pm and 6pm please find a member of staff at the brewery on arrival.

£5 per tent/campervan is payable in cash only and you must pay on arrival.

The event ticket price does not include camping, you must pay the camping fee in cash separately on arrival.

Please book in by emailing brew@bluestonebrewing.co.uk – it helps us with numbers!

We’re unable to offer camping all year-round so if you are attending an event outside of June, July, August – please contact us to double check.

What should I wear?

We are an open air venue and based on a farm. We do have a large stretch tent and heaters, but we recommend that you dress for the outdoors. We'd advise against wearing your stilettos!

Can I book a taxi?

Local taxi firm Home James Taxis will be available to help you get home. We are very much "out in the sticks" and don't have taxis passing the venue regularly, we also don't have the best phone signal - so we strongly recommend pre-booking your taxi. Our events are usually wrapped up by 11/11.30 and everybody off site by midnight - if that helps with working out when to book your taxi home.

Will I be able to sit down?

We set the Brewery up in different ways for various events. We provide seating for most events but, at our busier events, when we are at full capacity, there will be limited seating available, as they are predominantly standing/dancing gigs. We ask that you don’t bring your own chairs to the venue, thank you.

If you are concerned about seating or have particular access requirements, please get in touch and we will be happy to advise and help.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in our field just next to the Brewery. You’re welcome to leave the car overnight and come back for it the next day.

Can I bring my dog?

Our events are not suitable for dogs, they are very busy and noisy. We ask that you do not bring your dogs to our events, thank you.

Will there be food?

We invite local caterers to our bigger events, they always offer a range of options - including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

How will I get my ticket?

When you purchase a ticket, you will receive an email with an order confirmation and your name will automatically be added to a list on the door. On arrival at the event, we will ask to see your order confirmation (just on your phone is enough, but you're welcome to print out if you'd rather) and will check your name against our list.

What drinks will be available?

You're in luck on the beer front! We will have a wide selection of our own beers available on tap at every event. If beer isn't your thing, we also serve wine, cider, soft drinks and alcohol free beers.

We do not serve spirits.

We do not allow people to bring their own drinks into the venue - anybody found with their own drinks will be asked to leave. Please don't make us do that!
